Hearing Tests with Andrew Bird Hearing
One in six adults in the UK are affected by hearing loss - so it’s normal to notice changes over time. But you don’t have to live with it.
Our hearing tests can accurately assess your hearing and identify the most suitable hearing aid for your level of hearing loss, lifestyle and budget to help you stay confident and connected.
What to expect during your hearing test
Step 1: Consultation
After entering the clinic room, the appointment will begin by discussing a bit about you and your hearing.
Your Audiologist will ask questions such as previous medical conditions and where your hearing loss is most noticeable, to gain context about your hearing history.
Step 2: The Test
The test is straightforward and nothing to be nervous about.
While wearing headphones in our soundproof Audiometry booth, you will be played a series of tones at different frequencies and asked to respond when you hear one by simply pressing a button.
Step 3: Your Results
Following the test, your Audiologist will identify your hearing loss and explain your results.
Using these results and context gained from the consultation, you will be recommended the most suitable hearing aid treatment option based on your individual needs.
Levels of Hearing Loss
Your level of hearing loss determines your hearing thresholds: the more profound the loss, the greater the difficulty in hearing and the higher the likelihood of needing assistive devices like hearing aids or techniques such as lip-reading.
